On Thursday 6th February 2025 Telehouse (a data centre management business) hosted the 'Connect for a Cause' Gala Event for Leaders in Community and First Love Foundation as their Tower Hamlet's Charities of of Year

Work With Us

Leaders in Community (LiC) is a youth-led charity founded by a group of active local young people.  Over vision and mission is to help disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets remove internal and external barriers to education, employment and entrepreneurship success.

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is one of London’s most deprived boroughs, where 70% of the population are from Black and Ethnic minority communities and unemployment is at its highest in England. Community cohesion and race relations are often poor, drug use and anti-social behaviour persist, and crime levels are more than double the national average.

Leaders in Community come across so many bright individuals from Tower Hamlets who are keen to go on to higher education, build themselves a career and improve their quality of life — but what seems apparent from a simple conversation is their lack of self-belief and their desire for an opportunity to flourish.

This is where we come in and this is where you can help.  Whether you apply for one of our roles, donate and/or volunteer your contribution is invaluable to changing the lives of our young people and residents.  Leaders in Community believe in the power of partnerships.  It is through these local and pan London connections that we take pride in being able to transform the lives of local young people.  These are the ways you can work with us to make a positive difference:

Free Programmes

Over the years we have helped thousands of young people by giving them access to our creative youth work, volunteering opportunities and learning programmes.

All to help build their character, develop their careers and create community. Our programmes run throughout the year and are free to all young people.

Bigger Impact

To keep our programmes free, reach more young people and have a bigger impact, we need help with the running cost of our charity and the work that we do. With your support we can help more young people breakout of the familial cycle of poverty, accelerate social mobility and create positive role models for young people’s peers and the upcoming generation.
